Building Leta: What’s Driving Us in 2026

On my recent trip to South Africa to meet with one of our biggest customers, I found myself reflecting on why we started Leta.

Leta was born out of a simple belief: that logistics in Africa could be cheaper, faster, and smarter.

And that by building the right technology, with the right people, we could fundamentally change how goods move across the continent.

That belief hasn’t changed.

Our goal has always been, and remains, to be the logistics company for Africa.

When we started, we weren’t trying to build a trendy product or chase metrics.

We were solving a problem we had seen up close.

Dispatch was messy, with orders coming in through calls and WhatsApp.

Businesses lacked a clear view of where vehicles were or how long trips should take, which made it hard to plan, and even harder to grow.

These challenges affected how businesses served customers and how confidently they could scale.

Five years in, those challenges are still present.

What has changed is our ability to address them with better tools, a stronger team and deeper operational experience.

We’ve been fortunate to earn the trust of tier-one pan-African and global brands, companies like KFC, Diageo, and Simbisa, who rely on us every day to deliver for their customers.

That trust is not accidental

It’s the result of deep care, high standards, and a relentless focus on execution.

But what matters just as much as what we build is how we build it.

From day one, we set out to create a workplace grounded in respect, trust, accountability, and ownership. A place where people feel safe to think, challenge, grow, and ultimately become the best versions of themselves.

When we get that right internally, exceptional customer experiences follow naturally.

And that’s not just a theory. You can see it in how quickly we resolve issues, how tightly we

As we enter our fifth year of operation, nothing about our mission changes, but the standards required of all of us do.

2026 is a call to go another level across the business:

  • Higher ownership
  • Sharper execution
  • Stronger collaboration
  • And a deeper care for our customers and each other

All while protecting the core fabric of who we are.

From our first office on Ojijo Road, and the foldable tables and broken chairs, to where we stand today, our culture has always been our unfair advantage.

Anthony, Kip, and I remain stewards of that culture, but it only thrives if each of you chooses to live it, protect it, and raise the bar every single day.

So I’m calling on everyone to step forward this year, lead from where you are, act like owners, and help Leta grow at the same pace as our ambition.

Onwards,
Nick.
